Dieci e Mezzo
Chef James Kidman is planning to make his stylish restaurant the truffle headquarters for the season. We’ll be launching events there and while the restaurant is closed on Sundays, James will be popping up at other events as a cooking truffle ambassador for this year’s festival. The first degustation dinner of the Festival was their exciting Three Chefs Truffle Dinner.

With a menu described as ‘informal contemporary Italian’ you can expect some great truffle dishes, and they’re open early for a truffle dish or two at breakfast.

Lambert Vineyards
Chef Chris Whitlock and staff have created one of our best regional dining experiences. Situated in the hills of Wamboin, there’s a definite Italian feel to the landscape outside the cosy restaurant.

Lark Hill Winery Restaurant
Join us for a long lunch on the deck as you enjoy a glass of our Biodynamic wine and look out over the vineyard. Our menu changes regularily as we focus on regional, seasonal produce, much of which we grow on our certified Biodynamic farm. Our Restaurant showcases food/wine matching and as such we do not offer a separate children’s menu. Through July and August we will feature Canberra Black Truffles on our menu -with the option of fresh truffle on any dish you like.

Le Très Bon

Le Très Bon in Bungendore has a French chef Christophe Gregoire who is a huge fan of the locally grown Black Perigord truffles. He has already started truffle dishes on his winter menu, truffle cooking classes followed by lunch and like last year there are a number of wine and truffle dinners planned. Locanda
Chef Paolo Milanesi is making
Locanda Italian Steakhouse one of the Festival truffle centers. He promises a number of truffle dishes and will shave on truffle as an option throughout the season. (See our Locanda video in our Video section) On Thursday 4 August they’re holding a seven course truffle degustation dinner, with a great menu. Lerida Estate and Café Lerida
Jim Lumbers and Anne Caine established Lerida Estate in 1997, and have won numerous medals and awards for its wines. The winery is in a unique site overlooking lake George and architect Glenn Murcut has designed a spectacular winery building for the Estate.
The café is open on weekends and most Public Holidays and offers a range of delicious, nutritious and seasonal dishes made with fresh local produce, including truffles in winter (when there’s also an open fire to warm you).

3seeds school store canteen
3seeds is as the titles suggests, made up of 3 components: the cooking school, a gourmet store and canteen. The cooking school operates from a new purpose built kitchen where Chef Andrew Haskins will share his passion for black truffles (and his regular classes run midweek). They also have Mt Majura truffle for sale. They are a hands-on class with a min of 10 participants. No previous experience is necessary. Friends are able to join in for the meal at the end which the students have prepared and cooked. Complimentary wine or beer is included.

Crisps Lane Café & Yass Valley Wines
The café is beautifully situated overlooking both the Yass Valley Wines vineyard and the pastures and vines of their neighbours in the valley. From the north facing verandah or the full length windows in the cafe guests enjoy both the country hospitality and the delightful country views.

Flint Dining Room & Bar
Due to a fire in the New Acton buildings Flint restaurant is closed until further notice and will not take part in the Festival.
A Truffle Festival favourite last year, Flint Dining Room & Bar adds truffle to their modern international bistro Menu that showcases the products of wood-fired oven and grill. The rustic, unpretentious fare is served individually or to share, encouraging a festive and communal atmosphere of good food in comfortable surroundings.
The setting, a 1927 heritage building, has been dramatically transformed by designers SJB to create a colourful, contemporary space that complements the bold tones and flavours of the menu.

7.30pm.
This seven course truffle dinner is prepared by executive chef Hartmut Kehm. Hartmut and his team of chefs have prepared a sensational menu highlighting our fresh local truffles matched with fine local wines. This dinner will highlight the black truffles harvested in the Capital Region surrounding Canberra. We guarantee you a treat for the senses. $160pp with wines.

The Wig and Pen

Canberra’s traditional brewpub has been part of the Canberra social scene since 1994. It has ten different beers brewed on premises and regularly holds special events. They have a matched one of their seasonal ales and draw it through an infuser with hops, herbs and truffle slices. Brew master Richard Watkins says that the truffle in his infuser adds to the Wig and Pen Spiced Old Ale, “ Malt, spice and cumquat flavours marry together with the truffle creating a nutty malt flavour with spicy richness”. BENCHMARK wine bar
This distinguished local wine bar and restaurant serves over 100 wines by the glass and more than 400 by the bottle from both new and old world countries.
For the truffle season, every Tuesday in July while the supply is available, they will have a local Black Truffle Degustation dinner. Consisting of 5 courses with wines $150 per person. See the menu. There are limited seats.

Silo Bakery
Silo is famous for its sourdough and patisserie, but it is also a café serving breakfast and lunch, and was the winner of the 2006 Restaurant & Catering national breakfast restaurant.
They have truffle as an addition to both a breakfast and a lunch dish from an additional $6. You can also purchase (unless they’re sold out) master baker Leanne Gray’s garlic and truffle butter balls.
