After appearing on Australia’s popular food program MasterChef in 2012 and being exposed to a variety of culinary challenges, Kylie has ventured out of the MasterChef kitchen and into the world of pastry and fine desserts. Kylie has now established herself in the kitchen with renowned pastry chef Darren Purchese at his ‘sweet studio’, Burch & Purchese in Melbourne, developing her knowledge about all things sweet. To complement her time in the kitchen, Kylie has also been tutored at Savour Chocolate and Pastissie School run by Kirsten Tibballs, further developing her knowledge in pastry. Kylie has just returned from Sans Sebastian, Spain where she has had the honour of working at Mugaritz, currently ranked the fourth best restaurant in the world, under esteemed chef, Andoni Aduriz. Kylie has been involved with pop up restaurants for the Starlight Children foundation & Variety charity, photographing and blogging her ventures for Nikon, and pursing another great love of hers- growing her own produce at Melbourne’s Federation Square’s ‘pop up Vegi Patch’. Being creative with food is Kylie’s passion – “You can bend the rules when it comes to cooking, and for me as long as you get a smile when you serve the plate up to someone, that’s the icing on the cake”.
